A health coach is a motivator, an educator and an accountability partner to the highest extent. My job as your coach is to ensure that you have the proper tools necessary for your individual health success. You can think of me as your personalized guide in the health and wellness space. Along my journey, I had to navigate through a lot of misleading nutritional information – what foods should we eat? Are eggs going to kill me? Should I count all my calories? 100 hours of exercising a day right? On top of an ever growing list of contradictory information, there is also the advertising and propaganda from food companies about their products. Take this pill and you’ll lose 30 pounds in 1 day…really? Or how about, if you want to be healthy just drink these shakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the rest of your life.
As I’m sure you are aware, there is a massive sea of misleading and quite frankly very dangerous health information that a quick google search can turn up. I am here to help you break through the clutter and to equip you with REAL knowledge and guidance that is scientifically sound, and effective. Heard about a new diet trend? Sure, let’s talk about it and understand it. My job is to keep things simple, help you understand any health concerns that you may be experiencing and provide as much resources to help you manage or reverse symptoms.
What many people don’t understand is that overall health and wellness is not a “one size fits all”, or one single approach. We see this all too often in the healthcare space – client/patient see’s a nutritionist and express symptoms of fatigue, headaches and bloating. Nutritionist prescribes a list of foods to eat or to avoid, with no guidance or support on making these changes. Not taking into account any lifestyle habits that may need to be changed as well. A doctor will most likely prescribe a drug to manage those same symptoms, as oppose to taking time to understand the root cause of these symptoms and addressing that first. That’s where me, the Health Coach comes in…
My Approach
I believe that having a healthy gut leads to a healthy mind/body/spirit/life/relationship/mood…fill in the blank!
First, we start with a nutritional cleanse protocol that is designed to help jump start your health journey. When our bodies aren’t properly digesting and absorbing nutrients, things start to break down. So we need to give your digestive system a nice little tune-up before we get going. Then, we focus on stress management. Stress plays an enormous role in our health and well-being, and absolutely needs to be a component of any successful health and lifestyle protocol. Believe it or not, chronic stress can cause a whole host of health issues ranging from high blood pressure to even inducing an auto-immune disease. These are two of the pillars that will be essential in your health transformation. With our foundation set, everything is personalized from here. Each individual has a unique situation, different lifestyle, specific time constraints, etc. Recommended a 45 minute workout for one, may not be feasible for someone who can only commit 15 minutes a day to exercising. And this is where the magic happens – everyone can get to a place where they feel optimal, empowered, energized and unstoppable!
